My Friend Voldemort
My Friend Voldemort is a podcast for emotionally mature adults to understand American public discourse in the news as it relates to politics. We aim to restore dialogue to the American public sphere.
In "Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business" (Viking Penguin, 1985), communications theorist Neil Postman predicted that television would destroy serious and rational public conversation.
Today, the problem we are addressing is that there is too much monologue in the public sphere and not enough dialogue. Accordingly, My Friend Voldemort provides insight into the attitudes, beliefs, and values that drive conflict between right-wing and left-wing American politics.
